Ever had one of those days that seemed so dreadfully busy but at the end you felt like you accomplished nothing? Well, that was my yesterday!
I was so tired by the end of the day, I got the kids ready for bed, gave the baby her bottle (hubby finished putting her to bed while I took my shower), caught a glimpse of my bed as I was drying off so I just went to lay down for just a minute....and then I woke up this morning to the dreaded beeping of the alarm clock! Could they make those things any more annoying? I have no idea how many times I hit the snooze button before my husband told me I was going to run the kids late. Oh my, I cannot wait until sleep-in summer days!
So, I finally got up...begrudgingly of course and started the ritual...coffee, get dressed, get baby, change diaper, bottle, off to school we go! Whew! Another day, but it is FRIDAY! YAY!
As I drove to school, in my half asleep daze I am thinking of all the things I have to do even still, TODAY! It makes me tired to think of it already. Pull up to the school, hugs and kisses to kids and off they went. Makes me happy that they love their school. They say it is like home away from home.
On my drive back home, it is quiet because the baby has fallen asleep. I am stopped at a red light with Me, Myself and I. The sun begins to shine through my van's window, warming the side of my face. I am taken away to another place for just a few moments and it feels nice. The light turns green and I am back in reality. MY reality, MY life, and it feels good. I wouldn't change a thing. Crazy how that works huh? Grass is NEVER greener on the other side!

the final score
I went to my oldest son's high school soccer (futbol) game last night. It always feels good deep down as a parent when you see your boys play their positions on the pitch, talking to each other, making good passes, scoring, and ultimately shutting out the game with a win!
This comes with much practice, hard work, fellowship and even with several losses under their belt.
Lately, I have had several different people tell me that they are in transitional places in their lives and it is driving them crazy to know what the outcome is going to be so that they can just go ahead and "make plans". Although I somewhat know what they mean by that, I think sometimes we forget that "getting there" is what makes us who we are! Kind of like my son's soccer team I was talking about earlier.
Life is short. Getting to "the final score" is the best part! Enjoy it!

while baby is sleeping
Here it is, my first post. Kids are in school, baby is sleeping, all is quiet in the home. Just me and the keyboard. WOW...just not quite what I expected. Kinda like my first kiss. I am laughing out loud because it was a truth or dare and everyone was huddled around with backs turned to us. We were in sixth grade I believe. Me being me, never backing down from a challenge, but also neither of us knowing what to do...someone whispers, "One of you turn your tongue to the right, and the other turns their tongue to the left." So, there you have it. Kind of disgusting, huh! Whew, it was done. So, as with this post, until next time...getting real!
